Dance hall singer, Timaya has returned to the news after his assertion about marriage became a viral topic. This time, he is in the news for clapping back at a politician who made an attempt to correct him.

A video showing Timaya advise his colleagues, Phyno and Rudeboy, against focusing on marriage, went viral on the Internet. In the video, the singer said, “just born pikin, pikin go grow. Mummy this marriage thing no dey work.”

In reaction to the video, an Instagram user believed to be a politician, criticized the singer. He wrote, “I was going through @instablog9ja and saw a suppose role model advising his friend to impregnate ladies and move on…. Don’t be fooled a lot of people are going through a lot and disguise under celebrity status to hide their phobia… Be careful who you take advise from …. #iamhappilymarried”

Timaya who is known to be quick to react to criticism, slammed his critic. He called him out as a failed politician who beats his wife. He suggested that the criticism from the politician is supposed to be some sort of strategy to earn him votes.
